Nisshin Steel completed the development of 55% Al-Zn Galvalume Color Coated Steel (GL Color) named “moon matte SELiOS Prime” which was patented last year. Nisshin Steel shall begin commercial production from the spring of 2017. Through researching the mechanism of discoloration, they redesign the coating composition uniquely. This is the first time in PPGL industry to achieve this technology which ensure the PPGL not fade within 15 years with ordinary polyester resin. Meanwhile, the Galvalume Color Coated Steel is chrome-free. The product is mainly oriented to residential which could maintain the beautiful building for long-term with various designs. This material shall be promote to the related construction companies, civil construction companies and design firms etc.
During the development process, Nisshin developed the Department of Coatings and Structural Components, which focused on the study of coating composition. Starting with the Galvalume Color Coated Steel ‘s fading mechanism, they developed a fade-resistant performance of the “primer coating.” The GL Colour is not only fade resistance with good insulation and anti-fouling properties, but also has a resistance to damage performance.
All along, only PVDF Prepainted Galvalume Steel could be not fade within 15 years .Now Nisshin established a common polyester resin coating to achieve 15 years without fading technology in the first time. Their inner coating prime research department play high important on this development.
From the initial development of chrome-free technology, Nisshin grasped this opportunity to improve the corrosion resistance without the use of chromium for the purpose of developing a new coating. Finally, they improve the performance of the substrate corrosion, which can achieve the place of opening hole avoid any corrosion within longest 25-year. In this way, the development of chromium-free products has also been successful, in terms of corrosion resistance completely inferior to chromate products. Beginning from this spring, chrome-free products will begin commercial production as well.
