Carbon Steel Plate&Beijing New Airport: By the end of 2015, the British “Guardian” named “New World Seven Wonders”, which will be completed in the future. Yesterday afternoon, with the completion of the last one concrete pouring, the main structure of the Beijing New Airport main terminal was capped by 12 days in advance. The next step will be steel structure of a large area of the construction stage. Just with 10 months of time, a total of 830,000 cubic meters of concrete pouring, lashing 173,000 tons steel rebar which is far more than the National Stadium ‘Bird’s Nest’ 110,000 tons of steel. The most quantity of rebar were come from Hebei Jingye Iron&Steel Ltd. From April of 2017, Jingye supplied about 605MT rebar. Until June, the monthly supplied quantity reached to 15788MT, which was 80% of total rebar used quantity. Jingye established rebar warehouse around new airport project area with various sizes of rebar in ex-stock in order to meet the project spot need. In 17th of June, the new airport project needed 737MT 14mm*10.8m special length rebar. Jingye only spent two working days to delivery them.
How many carbon steel plate shall be used?
The new airport core area of about 170,000 square meters, the ground floor set up a 1232 building seismic isolation elastic slide bearing, the largest single bearing diameter is 1.5 meters with 5.6 tons, which is currently the largest building construction area Seismic elastic slide bearing. The 180,000 square meters of carbon steel plate structure shall be achieved in the next period. Located in the middle of the carbon steel plate structure, there are eight huge support columns with single C-pillar weighing 600 to 700 tons. National Stadium ‘Bird’s Nest’ used about 42,000MT carbon steel plate with Low alloy High Strength Grade such as Q460E which was produced by Chinese’s mills. Beijing new airport’s main steel structure will be estimated using nearly 100,000MT carbon steel plate. The main terminal area will be over Beijing Capital Airport T 3 terminal and become world largest terminal in the future.
